"Again...worth the wait."

I haven't done anything on Newgrounds in forever, but when I heard that Alvin released Episode 8, I decided to make a comeback. And lemme just say, Alvin outdid himself once again. With each new episode, he seems to be learning more about quality animating: the artwork for the upclose facial expressions are nice, love the 3D Bowser Doomship, and the battles are CRAZIER THAN EVER. I guess it's too bad most of the battles prior to this episode were all Mario and the gang vs. Mecha Sonic, the Koopa Bros, the Axem Rangers, all 4 vs 4 or 4 vs 1, small scale battles...now you've got Mario and the gang vs. Bowser's army, and Alvin did so much more with that. This episode gave us a chance to see what Alvin can really do, and I must say...I'm beyond impressed.

It's no wonder why these take Alvin a year or longer to finish...it's one guy doing all this and his normal life. If Alvin ever plans on making a living off this stuff, or move on to better things that involve this same style of animation, he's gonna do just fine.

At any rate, 10 stars, 5 rating, and keep up the great work, Alvin.

"In a Nutshell: Mario on the PC"

In my opinion, this is about as close to the original Mario game for the PC as you're gonna get.
I wanna see more Mario games like this...SMB 2, 3, Super Mario World.

It's amazing what comes through the Portal somedays. You definetely should've made this game longer, because this is one of the best maze-based puzzle
games I've seen in awhile, hands down. This game really encourages you to
think ahead, and the level designs are genius and sometimes confusing
enough to be challenging. 10/10 5/5

"Very fun and unique take on fishing games."

Okay, been awhile since I've given out my Unique Game of the Week award. Who'd have thought a fishing game could be so fun. I enjoyed the cute style of art for this game, and the environment (particularly the music) was very calm and relaxing. In terms of gameplay, surprisingly well done. 10/10, 5/5.

"Solid work"

For a home Flash video, this is pretty high quality. It was sort of disappointing it was so short, but it looks like quite a bit of work went into this, for having voice actors and very beautiful art/animation style. 10/10, and good luck to you in the contest.

"Super Addictive!"

Although not without some bugs, this game is awesome enough to be incredibly addictive. I easily hit the one hour achievment in one play. I would love to see a sequel of this game...with more spells, too - you've got fire and lightning, so maybe add ice?

I came back to Newgrounds just for this. When I heard this had come out, I couldn't pass it up. After over a year of silence, Alvin Earthworm has proven that he can still deliver.

First of all, I love the retro action in this episode. It made for a really nice twist.

Second: Goombella FTW.

Overall, it was well worth the long wait. The people at Newgrounds thanks you, Alvin. Thank you for not giving up on this. We anticipate Episode 8. Kudos.

Visuals: 10 (a resounding 10!) - This game is an absouletly stunning piece of art. Reminds me of a few anime series in terms of style.
Gameplay: 9 - I loved the concept, although it wasn't without a few glitches, so I can't give it a 10, unfortunately.
Story: 9 - Decent story...short and simple, but what else do you expect from a puzzle/hack-and-slash?
Overall: 9/10 (5/5). Great work! Can't wait to see more like this!
